“Obstacles are necessary for success because in selling, as in all careers of importance, victory comes after many struggles and countless defeats.”
Og Mandino

Forbes magazine has acknowledged the increase in the number of entrepreneurial women has grown exponentially in recent years. Starting up in business can be an exciting time for the woman entrepreneur, but also a daunting time too. In the excitement of getting things going, she often overlooks the obvious – profitable sales are the lifeblood of any business and selling is a skill.

Without exception, I’ve found that although most women entrepreneurs have a great deal of ability and an in-depth knowledge of their product, many fail to realise just how crucial it is to be confident in themselves – their message – and their value to become successful. It is surprising just how many women bear a deep sense of being judged. Feeling they are judged personally and feeling they are continually questioning their ability to do the job. Especially for those who have left a corporation where they were recognised for their expertise and experience and are now on their own.

My other half and I were discussing this recently and he was surprised just how many women felt like this until on further introspection, he recognised this sense of self-doubt in many of his female co-workers. Women that he believed were exceptional in the performance of their duties, but still lacked confidence to allow themselves to accept any kudos for a job well done.

It is quite unrealistic for anyone to expect they are an expert in a field without the appropriate training and education. But many women feel they have to be able to manage everything…have it all under control all the time. I’m not just talking about thinking this way just in the work environment but in all aspects of their lives. A super mum, a super wife, a super worker, a super all-rounder.

Can you recognise this way of thinking in yourself? I know in the past I’ve often felt frustrated by believing I have to be in control of all…all of the time. Having to feel in control so you don’t get out of control diminishes your self-confidence and you begin to play that big, scary movie in your head of not being good enough.

With many opposing conversations being played out in our heads on a regular basis, it is no wonder that we women are so reluctant to step out of our comport zone and accept challenges such as cold-calling clients or speaking in public without trepidation. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Selling doesn’t have to be scary when you have a proven system that gets results

Selling doesn’t have to be scary when you understand how the S.P.E.A.K. methodology is achieved.

Stepping out of your comfort zone and increasing your confidence by facing your fears
Owning your personal power and learning how to change unsupportive beliefs and values
Learning how to express your passion and gain clarity in your words and message
Attract and engage by connecting with your target audience
Reaping the benefits of kicking goals by creating a workable plan of action

And the selling process is with an authentic heart and mutually beneficial to all parties.
