Which of your habits are good and which are bad? And how do they affect your success?
This quote from James Clear really resonated with me.
“Think about what you want today, and you’ll spend your time. Think about what you want in 5 years, and you’ll invest your time.”
If you have read previous emails, you would know I am a fan of his book, ‘Atomic Habits.’
It is a topic I have been covered in-depth with my mentoring clients and in the We Are Women Mastermind group. It is also a great reminder for me to take the time to do an audit of my habits – good – bad – neutral.
I’d suggest giving it a go. Two columns, one with the habit, and one with the rating.
It might be as simple as flossing your teeth (or not), meditating (or not), or exercising regularly (or not). Think about what you do in a day and whether the action is a habit or not.
The Mastermind group agreed that making time to network regularly and learning new things daily would definitely rate as a good habit.
You will have read that one habit that I stick to every year is holding a 1/2-day planning and goal setting workshop every January.
But before I have the attendees work through the processes, I do it myself.
By setting (and writing down to a prescribed formula) personal and professional goals, planning how I will instigate my marketing priorities using hacks and time management techniques, I then can adopt habits that are going to keep me on track to reach my goals throughout the year.
