Adjusting Your Set-Point Changes More than Than the Outcome
“Beliefs have the power to create and the power to destroy. Human beings have the awesome ability to take any experience of their lives and create a meaning that disempowers them or one that can literally save their lives.”
Tony Robbins
Studies show that each of us has a ‘set-point’ for most areas of our lives—a fixed range we tend to return to throughout our life, whether it be financial, spiritual, or emotional.
It is believed that it is approximately 50% genetic and 50% learned. In best-selling author Marci Shirnoff’s book ‘Happy for No Reason’ she affirms her belief that we all can all easily and systematically raise our everyday level of happiness. With happiness and every aspect of your lives, you can adjust your set-point in regard to feeling comfortable around selling.
You can adjust your set-points when you become conscious of your thoughts, your feelings, and your body. Each have their own language, yet they are interconnected.
Have you noticed that when your thoughts are lower, your emotions tend to be lower? Your body feels off, and your spirit is pulled down? I’ve discovered that improving the quality of my thoughts improves the quality of my day, my life, and my business. Not easy some days, but certainly worth applying to create the results I desire.
I’ve also noticed a direct correlation between how I feel, what I’m thinking, and how my business is flowing. In my experience, when I’m feeling good; thinking positive thoughts; connected with others; sleeping well; exercising regularly; hydrated; and eating healthfully, then my spirits are elevated. In this state of being, I’ve found that it benefits my business, because I am more likely to make that call, attend that networking event, or follow my intuition to show up at exactly the right place at the right time. I attract that new client, being fully confident that the business meeting will end up encouraging people to say yes, creating more and more serendipity to occur, and thus growing my business.
When my whole being is ‘healthy’ it is representative of what is happening in my outer life; personally, professionally, and financially. It takes discipline to notice and purposefully apply changes to raise your set-point, but the payoff definitely is worth it.
