Advanced public speaking is not just about what you say, but how you deliver your message with confidence, clarity, and impact.

For months, I planned to step away.

The idea was simple.

Travel around Australia, switch off from work, and fully immerse myself in the experience.

No coaching calls.

No training sessions.

Just the open road, new landscapes, and the freedom that comes with it.

But life, and business, had other ideas.

As the plans came together, so did the enquiries.

Requests for private coaching.

Invitations to run training.

Messages from people who had found me online, searching for public speaking training in Brisbane.

And here’s what I realised.

I didn’t want to say no.

With access to Starlink and a setup that allows me to work from almost anywhere, I made a decision. I would continue working, just differently.

My clients, as always, have been incredible. Flexible. Supportive. Willing to adjust sessions around travel days, changing locations, and the occasional detour to somewhere too beautiful to leave.

Of course, not everything is predictable.

World events are already influencing travel costs, especially fuel.

But instead of resisting that, we’ve decided to go with the flow.

If fuel becomes scarce or expensive, we simply stay longer in one place.

🔆Slow down.

🔆Settle in.

🔆Take it all in.

And interestingly, something unexpected has emerged.

The demand for coaching hasn’t slowed.

In fact, it’s growing.

My website is working exactly as it should, connecting me with people who are actively looking to improve their speaking skills.

Even more surprising is this.

Online learning, particularly in public speaking, is incredibly effective.

Without the distractions of a physical room, my clients are more focused. More intentional. More aware of their delivery, their tone, and their message.

Sometimes stepping away doesn’t mean stopping. It simply means evolving.

“You don’t have to choose between building a life and building a business. With the right mindset, you can design both.”

Advanced Public Speaking Tips to Elevate Your Impact

1. Master the Power of Strategic Pauses
Most speakers rush to fill silence. Advanced speakers use it.
A well-placed pause gives your audience time to absorb your message and creates anticipation. It also positions you as confident and in control. Practice pausing before and after key statements to amplify their impact.

2. Speak in Outcomes, Not Information
Information is forgettable. Outcomes are memorable.
Instead of listing facts or processes, focus on what your audience will gain, feel, or achieve. This shifts your communication from “telling” to “influencing,” which is where true authority lies.

3. Refine Your Vocal Variety for Authority
Your voice is your instrument.
Subtle changes in tone, pace, and pitch can completely transform how your message is received. Slow down to emphasise importance, lower your tone to convey authority, and vary your pace to maintain engagement.
