Learning how to build a personal brand doesn’t require a big stage or a corporate office.

Sometimes it happens on dusty outback roads, in small community halls, and across the wide-open spaces of the Queensland Savannah Way.

As I travel the outback on my adventure this year, I’m constantly reminded that your personal brand is shaped by the moments where you show up, speak up, and share who you are.

Along the way, I’ve visited remote towns, camped under star-filled skies, and volunteered to speak at Rotary groups whenever the timing aligned.

Each presentation carried the same message: “Be the Voice of Rotary: Share Your Story, Inspire Others.”

What many people don’t realise is that this message IS personal branding.
It’s about owning your story.

The highs, the challenges, the lessons and the purpose behind what you do — and using it to inspire connection.

Every Rotary club I visited had its own identity, culture, and spirit.

Yet the one thing they all shared was the desire to make a difference.

When members shared their stories, they weren’t just informing their community… they were shaping how their club is perceived.

That’s branding.

And the same applies to us as individuals.

“Your brand is the single most important investment you can make in your business.”
